Conil de la Frontera is a quiet town of fishermen known as “pueblo blanco” because of its typical whitewashed houses. It is a town on the Atlantic coast in the South-Western of the province Cádiz, in la Costa de la Luz. It is limited by the municipal districts Chiclana de la Frontera, Medina Sidonia and Vejer de la Frontera. It is a small and picturesque town of 14 kilometres long of beach and extensive pine forests. Conil is an ideal place to spend your spare time in any period of the year.

The variety of its seaside coast comprises a group of beautiful and long beaches such as El palmar, Castilnovo, Los Batele, El Chorrillo, La Fontanilla, El Roqueo, La Fuente del Gallo and creeks such as Puntalejo, Cala de Aceite, Roche and la Torre del Puerco and its fishing port. All of them have thin and golden sand and transparent and crystalline water.

There are some monuments which are worthy to visit, Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes Convent , it also called Victoria Convent and Santa Catalina Parish Church that is a mix of Neogothic and Neomudejar style and dates from the 16th century. In the neighbourhood of fishermen from Conil is located the wonderful Chapel of Espíritu Santo erected at the end of the 16th century.

Another ecclesiastical monument is the Church of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno from the 16th century as well.

Apart from the churches and convents, you can see The Guzman Tower of gothic style and square plant, ordered to be built by Alonso Perez de Guzman ” Guzman El Bueno” at the beginning of 16th century and it constitutes the emblematic monument par excellence of this town. Some watchtowers which you will see as you get nearer the coast are built in the Middle Ages and they are Castilnovo, Atalaya, Roche and Puerco. Of the walls from Conil, nowadays it is only preserved the wall called Puerta de la Villa.

In summer the streets are full of tourist because of its excellent climate breathed in Conil. The beaches, from few metres from the town, restaurants, shops and its pedestrian streets make Conil be an ideal place to spend holidays and to spend an unrepeatable stay among us.
